The Traveler’s Table

The Traveler’s Table is located at 520 Westheimer Rd. Houston TX 77006. The concept of the restaurant is exploring the worlds dishes and flavors. At first thought, what a great idea, dishes from around the world, all in one spot. After a little more thought, I was wondering how do you execute this concept. Is one chef this good, or do they have a staff of chefs that specialize in different regions of the globe. Still a question I need to answer.

This was our first time to Traveler’s Table, we had heard great things about the execution of their menu, the dishes they offer and the overall experience.

When we go out for any meal, breakfast, lunch or dinner, good food is the biggest part of us enjoying the restaurant. But sometimes experience gets overlooked, especially in todays world. The interaction with the wait staff is the next big part to the overall experience of the restaurant. The waiter we had on our visit was outstanding, his knowledge of the menu, his attentiveness, his sense of humor, his patience with our indecisiveness all played a big part in us loving this restaurant and looking forward to our next visit.

We visited during HRW Houston Restaurant Week (month, all of August) . In the spirit of supporting HRW and its charity, we chose to make selections for dinner based on the HRW Menu offerings. We were not disappointed.

So, here we go, what did we order.

For appetizers we had - Pani Puri, Snapper Ceviche, and Crispy Pork Belly in Pasilla Sauce.
